Accessibility Statement
Raseef 33 sees accessibility as part of hosting well. We want everyone to be able to read our menu, find us and book a table, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
The standard we work to
This site was built to meet Israeli Standard 5568, which adopts the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Level AA, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773–2013. It has been checked in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and on mobile.
The accessibility menu
The accessibility button appears on every screen. Opening it lets you change, and keep, the following:
- Text size, in five steps from 90% to 150%
- High contrast, and an inverted light scheme
- Grayscale, for anyone who finds colour distracting
- Highlighted links, so they are marked by more than colour alone
- A plain, wide-spaced typeface in place of the display fonts
- Stopping animation, including the photographs that change on the home screen
- A larger mouse pointer
- A stronger outline on whatever currently has keyboard focus
What the site itself does
- Every part of the site can be reached and used with a keyboard alone
- A skip link at the top of each page jumps past the navigation to the content
- Photographs carry text descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Headings follow a real order, so screen-reader users can navigate by them
- Text and background colours meet the contrast ratios the standard sets
- Animation is reduced automatically if your device asks for reduced motion
- The site works in English, Hebrew and Arabic, with right-to-left layouts
Where we fall short
- The menu opens inside the site as a PDF page that you can enlarge up to six times, or open in your own PDF reader with the "Open PDF" button. Screen readers may not be able to read the dishes from it, though. Call us on the number below and we will read the menu to you or send it in another format. Some news and updates are also posted on Instagram, which we do not control and cannot make accessible.
- Booking is handled by an outside reservation service. If any part of it gives you trouble, call and we will take the booking by phone.
- Maps and navigation links open in Waze or Google Maps, whose accessibility is set by those companies.
The restaurant itself
The entrance to the restaurant is accessible. There is no accessible parking at the restaurant and no accessible restroom. For any other access need, call us before your visit and we will help you plan.
Telling us about a problem
If you meet a barrier anywhere on this site, or need something in a different format, we want to hear about it. Tell us what you were trying to do and where, and we will put it right.
